Appearance: Champloo is 100% pure man! Just look at him. Tall, fair complexion, spiky, shoulder length blond hair, pointy ears, yeah, he's manly all right. He wears black, rather poofy pants and long sleeves shirt, both decorated with a stripe of yellow and red flames, with black shoes. A white piece of fabric, probably acting like a thin apron, decorated with a black stripe and dots, runs down the front of his shirt, down to his knees and tied in the front. He has three bandanas, the one tied to his arm and around his head are red with a "X" made of bones on it, while he wears a simple red one around his neck. He's basically half-ninja, half-chef.

Personality: As a Home Ec teacher, Champloo is a kind, delicate, and sensible te---



Yeah, okay... I'll stop.

He is a Master Chef and he acts like one... at least, the Disgaea-warped version of one. He has no problems pushing some of the most dangerous, hard, and insane "teaching methods" on his pupils... as well as the occasional fight. Hey, it's Disgaea, it's pretty normal.

Anyway, cooking is his passion, his true passion. In fact he's so passionate about it he pretty much talks in food metaphors all the time. Everything can be a food analogy, anything. If it can't, you're just not trying hard enough.

However, as opposed to what you can find in "most" demons, Champloo has a kind heart. He helps out the various students and especially Mao through the many obstacles and problems they face. He believes that the strength of the heart can overcome everything... which is a rather strange belief as far as demons go. He tries to push this belief on both Mao and Almaz, and while the latter understands perfectly (after many WTF food metaphor moments), it doesn't quite seem to sit well with Mao. He also aligns himself with the old Overlord ideas of a peaceful Netherworld where demons can live carefree and choose their own paths, may they choose to be Honor Students (bad demons) or Delinquents (good demons).

Abilities: He can cook a meal in a flash and serve it on your head five seconds after you asked for it!!!

Moving on, Champloo is a master of the Fire Chaos Style Kitchen Fist and the legendary Home Economics teacher of the Evil Academy. So, this means that not only is he a professional chef, capable of preparing the most delicious of meals out of anything, but he's also a martial arts master and kickass ninja while at it too. He takes "appearing out of nowhere" to an advanced art form, and is a very capable fist fighter. He can break force fields with his bare hands and is very capable of handling stealth operations... until the moment he jumps out screaming like a maniac that is. Even then, the fact that he has managed to elude the entire school staff for years, including Mao's crazy prepared butler, is proof of his skills.

With that out of the way, let's move on to his greatest ability: cooking. Champloo is a master chef and there is no doubt about it. His food is so amazing that one bite can open up a demon's heart... well... no, not really, but it almost looked like it for a while~ Anyway, what really sets Champloo apart from the rest is the chef training he imposes on his students and even himself. This is the type of training that makes being stuck with Gordon Ramsey in a kitchen sounds like going to Disney World. He traps himself in the food and cooks himself along with it in order to fully understand the ordeal of the ingredients getting cooked for crying out loud. It's rumoured that these chefs sleep on beds of knifes and bath in boiling oil to harden their minds and bodies as well as understanding the ingredients. Those are just rumours, but considering he forces people to "live with violent ingredients" and "fast for a month"... they just be true after all. Yes, this is the things he teaches in class, but the fact that he is capable of tolerating these ordeals can just show you how insane strong he can be.

He also has the awesome ability to enter your own inner monologues to give you advice... don't you just love it when they play stuff like this for laughs?

Anyway, for the nerfing, his physical abilities will be lowered to the normal Disgaea character standard. He won't be able to pull out his crazy special attacks more than once or twice and his physical "normal" attacks are limited to normal human strength punches and kicks. He also wouldn't be able to tolerate his old regiment of "master chef" training as much as he used to... not that he would be capable of pulling some of them off. It's not like you can just make a human sized cake with Manhattan's current rations.

Weaknesses: One of Champloo's biggest weakness is the fact that no one understands just what the hell he's talking about. He might be wise and can give amazing advice... but it's so saturated with food metaphors that the message is usually lost. This also makes other not take him as seriously as they should. The fact that he's pretty much an enigma and never reveals anything more than necessary can also hurt in the trust department.

Physical wise, most of his attack style is short ranged and can rely on counter attacks, which can make it difficult in situations like Manhattan with the crabs. Stat wise, his intelligence and hit stats are the lowest, meaning that while he's powerful and fast, it won't always connect and magic isn't his forte.

Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider

History: Mister Champloo is a big enigma... so big that even by the end of the game, we still don't really know just who he truly is, other than the silent force behind the scene. We know that he was a vassal for the dean, aka, the Overlord and Mao's dad. Both of them went around spreading rumours and lies about supposed evil deeds done by the "strongest and most evil" Overlord so that human heroes would leave them alone. However, it didn't deter the "Super Hero Aurum". He went in to defeat the Overlord and... succeeded, because of Mao. Champloo arrived too late to stop the Super Hero Aurum from killing the Overlord and found Mao unconscious on the floor, the Hero nowhere to be found. After that, he went and hid, fixing problem that arised and watched over the Netherworld in place of the dead King for 200 years... as well as teaching the legendary, hidden Home Economics class.

He came back into focus as Mao tried to open his heart to give his stolen "Hero" title back to Almaz. Apparently, eating the egg of a dragon sunny side up would open up his heart. After Champloo's pupils lost to Mao and the latter showed up so that Champloo could cook the egg. He was the only one who could do it anyway... so Champloo decided to make it a cooking battle. Well, it was more of a brawl without cooking, but everything is a cooking battle for him. In the end, he loses to Mao and cooks him the egg sunny side up... while delivering it on Almaz's head, all this without anyone actually seeing him cook. He truly is amazing, yep.

Champloo makes his return a while later. During the elections for freshmen class leader, top delinquent Raspberyl got kidnapped by the PTA, the perfectly trained assassins... who work for the school board. As Mao and the gang reached their HQ (AKA, a giant toilet paper roll), all seemed lost as the PTA and the school board ganged up on them. Suddenly, Champloo came out and saved the captive Beryl, while delivering a heartfelt speech to the school board... using a coffee metaphor that would make Godot proud, about how forcing demons to the Honor Students via brainwashing just isn't right. Demons should be allowed to choose what they want to be, that is what being a true demon is all about. That and, he angers their leader as he's an unregistered teacher and doesn't have the benefits that come along with it such as insurance. Hey, I didn't say it made sense, okay? But since they won't listen to anything... they just proceed to kick some major PTA ass.

Champloo lends his help to the main group, mostly in the form of an advice giver, something that Almaz desperately needs. See, in an attempt to rid Mao of his inner demons, Almaz forced his heart open, took his title back... and reverted him to the mind of a baby. Oops. Almaz, not wanting to return his "Hero" title since not having it is causing him to become a demon gets chewed on hard by the Princess Sapphire, the one he wants to protect. Champloo steps in to offer advice (and it take a few tries before Almaz gets what's he saying), the Princess wants Almaz to shape up and become a great Hero. Almaz does what is right and restores Mao to his old self. At this point, Almaz acknowledges Champloo as his Master and will continue to do so until the end. Champloo will indeed keep giving him advice... which Almaz will eventually get better at understanding.

However, things are not right at the Evil Academy after Mao's return. Everything is out of place and worse of all, the seniors are brainwashing the rest of the students into becoming Delinquents. Now, there's a lot of things to say about these chapters, but this app is about Champloo, not about Mao's adventures. But during this time, Champloo does try to make Mao realise that the heart is a powerful thing, and that trusting in friends will give him power... however, these words mostly fall flat, even as other demons try to show him that it's true. He also greatly disapproves of the brainwashing for the same reasons he had with the PTA. Eventually, they meet up with Salvatore the Magnificent, a legendary senior and one of the Diez Gentlemen. Mao is unable to defeat her and when his butler takes the killing blow for him... he explodes. Champloo steps forwards and beam-punches Mao through the heart to clam him down. Thankfully it works and he goes back to normal.

One "oh so he's not dead" scene later, Mao and co decide to go into his heart to defeat his subconscious and unlock his potential. Champloo has some doubts about it, he does go along with it. After all, it's just like adding spices to flavour a meal up. It seems like it's working... until a vision of the Super Hero comes to him. At this point, Mao becomes enraged and it looks like all the potential he unlocked turned sour. Champloo is pretty sad about it, and he understands that Mao's heart scars about the Super Hero aren't going to go away that easy. But he knows that they must stand together to support Mao. In either case, they go to face the seniors and their leader, but near the end, it's revealed that the mastermind is... the Super Hero Aurum... who was parading as Mao's butler. At this point, Mao goes crazy and decides to go destroy the human world as revenge. Champloo is getting desperate, he knows he needs to calm Mao, but at the moment he just won't listen. He berates himself for not being able to have seen this tragedy happen earlier. It finally takes the death of Almaz via a curse, and the following asskicking of Mao's dark side, to finally make him unlock his heart... which also revived Almaz. Don't ask.

And so they moved in to defeat the Super Hero... who is pretty pissed at Mao because he's not destroying the human world. Turns out, the Super Hero has been grooming Mao to become the ultimate strongest evil Overlord just so he could beat him because a Hero needs to defeat enemies to be a Hero. That... doesn't sit well with anyone. Champloo finally reveals to Mao that he's loyal to the old Overlord that the Hero defeated 200 years ago, and tells him about his activities within the school. They then defeat him a first time, but sadly it's not enough. As he reveals to Mao that the reason his dad died was because he wouldn't use his ultimate attack since it would have hurt Mao who was nearby... Mao starts to snap yet again, but a group hug from everyone (and I mean pretty much everyone) finally calms him down and they defeat the Super Hero in his Dark God mode once and for all. Mao makes peace with his dad, becomes the Overlord and everything is back to normal.

Until Baal starts stealing stuff from everyone but as they all go inside the dimensional gate to investigate... oops, welcome to not so sunny New York... BOOM.
